Wright Library will host a Doom-Ta-Ka Children’s Drum Circle led by Columbus artists Hakan Kaya and Ron Hope on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30 P.M. Children of all ages are welcome to bring a drum, clap their hands, or bring anything they want to play and join the drum circle. The artists will bring some extra drums to share with the audience so everyone can play!
The concert will take place on the north lawn of the library, with the meeting room as the rain site. Patrons should bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating and are welcome to bring a picnic supper if they wish.
Summer Family Blanket Concerts are funded by a grant from the Wright Memorial Public Library Foundation which has been supporting special library projects and events and capital growth for the library since 1997. The library foundation is a component fund of The Dayton Foundation. The Summer Family Blanket Concert series is presented in conjunction with the library’s annual summer reading clubs. The theme this year is “Be Creative @ Your Library.” Activities are planned for children, teens, and adults throughout the summer to encourage reading and creativity.
Wright Library Summer Family Blanket Concerts are free and open to the public. Anyone with questions can contact the library at (937) 294-7171.
Wright Memorial Public Library is located at 1776 Far Hills Avenue in Oakwood.
