Sabina, a dubbing actress, wants to see her brother Daniele, who works in the United States as a university professor. They are bonded to one another following the childhood abuse that they endured from their father. This horrible experience festers like a beast in their hearts. The film charts their personal journey as they search for truth and meaning to their lives. Cristina Comencini’s beautiful portrait of human suffering has been nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 2006 Academy Awards, and will be screened in anticipation of Oscar Night on Sunday, March 5th.
Admission is free for all screenings at the Los Angeles, Italia Festival.
