Donnis Trio @ San Diego County Fair June 21, 2008

On Saturday, June 17, The Donnis Trio will be playing at The San Diego County Fair, O'Brien Stage. The San Diego-based band plays a unique blend of acoustic folk and rock fueled by masterful songwriting and robust baritone vocals.

The trio’s debut album All Directions captures a span of old and new material by award-winning songwriter Nate Donnis. Backing Donnis both live and on the record is the graceful slip-sliding of Denis Sluka on electric upright bass and the syncopated rhythms of percussionist Phil Woodring.

With roots in folk, acoustic rock, and reggae, the fourteen original songs on All Directions resonate with sleek acoustic arrangements, lyrical depth, and rich vocals. “Each track really has its own character.” notes Donnis. “We approached each song differently so that we could capture the essence and honesty of the lyric”.
