Don Dixon has devoted his entire life to the popular song. Whether working as a singer, songwriter, musician or producer, he has always tried to capture the essence of his life in the moment.
Pop singer Marti Jones first emerged as the frontwoman of the group Color Me Gone before issuing her solo debut Unsophisticated Time which was produced by her husband Don Dixon. She was the recepient of widespread critical acclaim with LPs like her A&M Records releases Match Game (recorded with guests Mitch Easter, T-Bone Burnett, and Darlene Love) and Used Guitars (featuring contributions from Marshall Crenshaw and Janis Ian).
Morticia's Chair combines elements of Celtic, pagan, medieval, gothic, and psychedelic folk over a strong rock base. They marry soaring melodies with evocative, even mystical lyrics that are drawn from the band’s background in visual arts. Their sound has a broad appeal, to people who like everything from The Byrds, Pink Floyd, and Robin Trower, to fans of Dead Can Dance, The Church, and Peter Murphy. They will be releasing their latest CD tonight.
