With innovative booking and an intimate lounge atmosphere, the monthly
Dogs Blood Rising event set the standard for experimental music nights in the Williamsburg area. This month features cutting-edge sound and visual artists:
DREAM INTO DUST 12am

The main band of Derek Rush, also known for dark ambient project A Murder of Angels with Bryin Dall (also a member of Thee Majesty along with Genesis P-Orridge of Psychic TV). The duo will be exploring a more experimental improvised version of their sound, which typically mixes acoustic guitar with electronic effects and percussion. Melodic and chordal fragments collide with off-kilter loops, sporadic beats, and bursts of noise. Simultaneous with the performance will be a slideshow of Rush's photography, some of which is also on display at http://www.ocularspectra.com
A MILLION BILLION 11pm

Ryan Smith is a member of the wildly different Art-Folk outfit Stars Like Fleas and Orchestral Pop band The Silent League. He takes yet another direction with his solo project, which debuted at Jon Keith Brunelle's Psychasthenia Society last December, and will have a CD released on Praemedia (home of SLF and Blevin Blectum) in April. Psychedelic laptop cutups and mesmerizing tones from inner space.
