The film "Outlaw Tech" will be shown at the Fort Smith Public Library, Main Branch, 3201 Rogers Avenue, on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 p. m. As part of the Fort Smith Museum of History’s latest exhibit, "In the Shadow of the Gallows," a documentary series of films produced by the History Channel will be presented at various locations throughout the year.
"Outlaw Tech" rides in the shadow of men like Butch Cassidy, Jesse James and Henry Starr. The legendary outlaws of the old west were always on the lookout for new ways to further their criminal careers, and the fast-developing technologies of the nineteenth century afforded them plenty of opportunities.
There is no charge for the fifty minute film. Call the Fort Smith Museum of History, 479-783-7841, for more information.
This project has been funded in part by the Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
