The Reading Art Book Club (RABC) will hold its next meeting at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, February 10, at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. The meeting will focus on The Painter from Shanghai: A Novel by first-time novelist Jennifer Cody Epstein. The book is a fictionalized account of the life of Pan Yuliang, who went from being sold into prostitution to one of the most prominent female painters of the 20th century.
Also on February 10, in celebration of the new “Warhol & Pop Art” exhibition, the RABC will be viewing the documentary "Andy Warhol: Fame: The Ultimate Performance Piece" at 1:30 PM (before the regular meeting). “Warhol & Pop Art,” featuring over twenty artworks by Andy Warhol, opens on Friday, February 5 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art.
The Reading Art Book Club is dedicated to exploring the connections between art and literature by reading and discussing books. Funded by the City of Las Cruces, the Las Cruces Museum of Art is located at 491 N. Main St. in the downtown mall.
