Celebrate Cinco de Mayo weekend at the Dallas Museum of Art and see the exhibition Lords of Creation: The Origins of Sacred Maya Kingship before it closes May 7.
Enjoy concerts, tours, films, family programs, games, and extended hours all weekend, including half-price exhibition admission Thursday and Friday from 9:00 p.m. to midnight and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following are some featured items planned for the Cinco de Mayo Closing Weekend Celebration:
? Fiesta Maya Family Day (see below)
? A live demonstration of the infamous and deadly Maya ball game (a precursor to our tamer, modern-day soccer and basketball traditions) by Grupo Pakal

Authentic Maya legends and myths told by master storyteller Candace Wolf, who has traveled the world to learn the oral histories and traditional humor of cultures worldwide by living among peoples of many communities, including Maya Indians in the jungles of Guatemala, migrant gypsies in Europe, rice farmers in Indonesia, and coal miners in Appalachia
? The Art of Maya Royal Sacrifice, a talk by Dr. David Freidel, University Distinguished Professor of Anthropology at SMU
? Maya dance ensemble Grupo Pakal will perform authentic ritual dance honoring the Maya gods
? Masters of Mexican Cinema movie marathon
? Performances in the galleries, tours, poetry readings, and more
