STEVE PRIOR BIO:
In the beginning there was HOUSE. Hailing from the very birthplace of the popular genre of electronic dance music, Steve Prior was never a stranger to house in his beloved Chicago. In the early 1990s as a young teenager, Steve spent countless summer nights musing, sweating and breathing house music courtesy of the B96 Mixmaster dance parties at Six Flags Great America. One DJ stood out in particular and subsequently shaped his influences—the legendary Bad Boy Bill. It was evident that house music would become a mainstay in Steve’s life for years to come. Fast forward more than 15 years. Steve sits on top of the Los Angeles house music scene as a resident for one of the most successful underground parties. “Spider After Dark” is an after-hours held weekly on Fridays at the world-renowned Avalon Hollywood. Armed with a diverse repertoire of tunes ranging from deep house to techno, Steve prefers to simply classify his style as “just good music”. However, his signature 5-hour sets tend to hover in the deep, dark and groovy realm with a touch of vocals and classics. With a decade of DJing under his belt and an illustrious production career ahead of him, Steve has forged a bright name for himself in the house music community.
