Guest: Paul D. Miller is a conceptual artist, writer, and musician working in New York. His media work has appeared in a wide variety of contexts including the Whitney Biennial, the 2000 Venice Biennale for Architecture, and the Lincoln Center Festival. He is best known as ?DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid,? a ?constructed persona? who records and performs his own work globally, as well as collaborating with such major figures in the music industry. His first collection of essays, Rhythm Science, will be available for purchase and signing at the event. More information can be found at www.djspooky.com.
Moderator: Jaron Lanier returns to the Cleveland Public Library to moderate the Second Spectrum dialogue. He is a computer scientist, visual artist, and author. Best known for coining the term ?Virtual Reality,? Lanier also serves on several advisory boards for technology-related companies, and was recently named on the list of The Prospect/Foreign Policy Top 100 Intellectuals.
