DJ Spinna and Waajeed honor J DILLA on the anniversary of his passing February 5, 2007

Beyond the Groove presents A Tribute to J Dilla with DJ Spinna and special guest Waajeed of Platinum Pied Pipers

A year ago the world lost a legend. J Dilla, whose prolific career took him from crafting the sounds of Slum Village and remixing other hip hop giants like Tribe Called Quest to creating a genius string of solo releases at the beginning of this decade, passed away on February 10th, 2006—only a few days after his 32nd birthday and the release of the immediate classic Donuts. A year later, Spinna and Dilla’s long-time friend Waajeed celebrate his life. All of tonight’s proceeds go to the Dilla Foundation.
