DJ Hazard and Friends Kicks Off New Year of Comedy at the Orpheum January 21, 2011

Boston comedy legend DJ Hazard, joined by Corey Manning, Rick Cormier and Tom Gilmore, will kick off the 2011 comedy season at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro on Friday, January 21.

DJ Hazard is a founding member of the infamous Ding Ho Club, whose members include Steven Wright, Bobcat Goldthwait, Paula Poundstone and Denis Leary. DJ Hazard has performed across North America, and has achieved near cult status along the way.

DJ Hazard can also be seen in the award-winning films Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story, Bourbon, and Cold Calls. He can also be heard as a guest vocalist on both the first and current Beat Circus CD, and his long-awaited third album, Man of Hazardium, is now available.

Other performers include Corey Manning, a native of Durham, North Carolina, who has honed his comedy skills in Boston. A featured act in Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza! New Faces of Comedy, Manning is a regular host of the Boston Comedy Jams, and has been a semi-finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. Manning is also the host of Wake Up!! With Corey and Drea on Boston Neighborhood Network TV, and is also a guest radio personality for Touch 106.1 FM in Boston.

Rick Cormier, a comedian and parody musician who has been writing parodies and doing stand-up since 2005 will also take the stage on January 21.

Tom Gilmore will also join the Comedy Night at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro. Gilmore is one of the 'original' Boston comedians who helped launch the art of standup comedy in Boston at the infamous Ding-Ho Comedy Club.
