A Conversation with Thomas Glave and Alexis De Veaux
In his lyrical and powerful collection of essays, Words to Our Now: Imagination and Dissent, Thomas Glave draws on his experiences as a gay, politically active Jamaican American to deliver a searing condemnation of the prejudices, hatreds, and inhumanities that persist in the United States and elsewhere, in both official policy and social reality. In Warrior Poet: A Biography of Audre Lorde, Alexis De Veaux tells the story of the late Audre Lorde, self-described Black, lesbian, feminist, mother, poet warrior, whose writings and ideas on race, sexuality and gender have been internationally recognized. Join us as Glave and De Veaux exchange ideas on the intersection of race, nationality and sexuality in literature by Black writers.
