Dislocation/Relocation/Diaspora: The Art of Hamid Kachmar (Opening) October 8, 2009

Hamid Kachmar, a Moroccan-born artist of indigenous Berber descent, will be the Stone Center’s featured artist for fall 2009.

"Dislocation/Relocation/Diaspora: The Art of Hamid Kachmar" will open in the Stone Center’s Robert and Sallie Brown Gallery and Museum on October 8 with a 7 p.m. reception. Kachmar uses materials such as goatskin and silkscreen, and employs cultural techniques like weaving and woodcarving to create his artwork.

The exhibit will run through December 4, 2009.
