Looking to meet green business leaders in the Calgary area?
Join REAP Members and other business owners/operators
on the first Thursday of each month for a green business
networking event. It's an informal gathering where people
running environmentally and socially responsible businesses
can come to have a drink, meet new people and share ideas
about sustainable business.
There is no cost to attend.
Just show up, participate and buy your own drinks.
Thursday, March 5 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Café Koi, 100, 1011 - 1 Street SW
Ross Hahn (CEO) and Tim Neis (VP) of SwizzleSticks SalonSpa
will be there. They welcome the opportunity to chat with you about
how SwizzleSticks SalonSpa is making a difference in the Calgary
community and how you might be able to collaborate. Here are just
some of the reasons why SwizzleSticks SalonSpa is in our member
spotlight this month:
* Tim and Ross have always felt that respecting the earth
and its' inhabitants was the only right answer for business.
Long before it was fashionable, they sought out partners,
like Aveda, to help them build the business responsibly.
* Their vision is to demonstrate to guests and other
businesses that you can have a profitable business
model while showing leadership in environmental and
humanitarian issues.
* SwizzleSticks SalonSpa became a Founding Member of
REAP to network with like-minded local businesses that
are interested in sustainability. It wants our collective
momentum to continue to grow so that we can all show
Calgary that being green isn't a fad, it's an achievable lifestyle.
* SwizzleSticks SalonSpa can help other businesses
evaluate their current suppliers and identify greener
partners. For example, it recently switched to Canon
photocopiers because research showed that Canon
had the strongest sustainability mandate. SwizzleSticks
SalonSpa chooses partners based not just on their end
product, but on the whole philosophy of the company.
* Ross and Tim are looking for help with composting for
the staff lunch room.
Come meet them and other business leaders on March 5 and
see how together we are building a more sustainable city.
