Anna Netrebko revives her sensational turn as Norina—the disguised bride who becomes a greedy old man’s undoing—in Donizetti's bel canto comedy, opposite Matthew Polenzani, Mariusz Kwiecien, and John Del Carlo in the title role. The New York Times wrote of Netrebko: “She has the stage presence, the charisma, that the old-fashioned divas used to command, and she adds to it both charm and sensuality.” Music director James Levine conducts.
