Description:
Kicking off procedures there is a packed spring launch party at the Shoreditch disco pub joining residents Neil Thornton (Lasermagnetic) and Jac the Disco we welcome 2 of London's finest exports of disco and house music both in production, remix duties and as party selectors we welcome Toby Tobias and Stevie Kotey to the party plus good friends Groovecast hosting upstairs.
Toby Tobias, a producer and DJ from London, has been tampering with beats and samples since the early 90s when he bought his first sampler. He has released on many choice labels including Rekids, Tirk, Tiny Sticks, Hector Works, Jisco, Under The Shade, Redux and Brontosaurus. In turn, his tracks have been remixed by a plethora of greats such as Prins Thomas, I:Cube, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Lee Foss, Quiet Village and Tensnake.http://soundcloud.com/tobytobias
Stevie Kotey-The power of a Duracell rabbit seems to run in Stevie Kotey’s family. How else could he run his Bear label empire with a billion sub-labels (Bear Funk, Hairy Claw, Big Bear), DJ and produce for the Chicken Lips and remix people on top of that. Starting out in an old-fashioned tea boy way at Audio One Studios in London, . His own array of labels holds a great selection of diverse, entertaining and amazing music by like-minded producers from Lindstrom and the Idjut Boys to DJ Kent, Theo Parrish and Chicken Lips. Disco, Cosmic or not, Afrobeat, House or Techno, if you can dance to it, the bear most likely has it in his paws. Besides regular spots at Fabric and Melting Pot, festival appearances at Lovebox, The Big Chill, Glastonbury, Dublin’s Electronic Festival, Astigmatic and Metamorphose, Stevie Kotey was touring faraway places like Australia, Japan, America, and Dubai demonstrating his versatility behind the decks. Besides many other things Stevie is currently working on a new project with Andrew Meecham of Emperor Machine called Grand Corporation.
