Discocult is Sugar's own monthly platform for high-flying, jet-setting, trail-blazing globe-trotting DJs. The Discocult sound can be classified as a freestyle disco: an energising and melodic punch of tech-funk, balle funk, high octane breakbeat, fidget house, electro hip-hop, glam punk and rocking new disco.
Tonight, residents DJs Rubedo and Graham B are joined by Brit-German DJ/producer, Lars Moston.

Lars is half of Moston & Malente, one third of The Killergroove Formula and also active as a solo artist.

The focus lately has been on solo work, resulting in three singles in 2007: “We Like This“, “So Bad” and “Ever Since I Heard The Sound”, have been given a thumbs up by the likes of Etienne de Crecy, Mason and Boris Dlugosch.

As DJ, Lars mixes electro with a funky, rocking bias. He’s headlined all over Europe and holds a residency at Cologne’s no. 1 party - the mad and massive Loonyland. With headliners including 2 Many DJs, Boys Noize, Hell, Tiga, Felix da Housecat, Surkin, Moonbootica and Crookers, these nights are the ideal playground for refining his upbeat, electronic party sound.

Moston & Malente have been big in the game ever since “In The Sky”, their first release on Hamburg-based Moonbootique Rec. became a club hit earning them no. 4 in the German Club Chart (DCC), world-wide compilation deals and plenty of airplay on music television. More recently, it was "The 2 & Only" on Manchester's high-rising breaks imprint, Splank! Rec. that made a name for M & M in the UK - being crowned Record Of The Month in IDJ magazine. The follow-up single, “F*cked Up” (also on Splank!), is already making big waves.
Lars Moston is now also entering the big league with his crew, The Killergroove Formula, who received awesome DJ feedback and rave reviews for their debut album "Territory: World" (Lounge Rec.) after already having had a string of successful productions and remixes on well-respected labels such as Lab-Rok and Unique Records.

The first solo release of 2008 for Lars is “What Now” on Kisu Music, which will be followed shortly by “Jack It!” on Freakz Me Out Rec.
