BAMP Project and Double O Spot present British house music group Dirty Vegas (DJ set) featuring Paul Harris and Steve Smith for one-night-only on Saturday, November 10, 2012 live at The Republik, Hawaii's newest concert venue.
Dirty Vegas exploded onto the scene with their self-titled debut album, which was one of 2002’s most provocative and popular releases, earning massive commercial success, along with unanimous critical acclaim. The collection made a huge impact upon its arrival, landing at number 7 on the billboard 200, selling close to a million records worldwide.
Single from the album, ‘'Days Go By'’, was a major dance and pop crossover sensation, which hit the top spot in the billboard Dance Chart in June 2002. The track also scored the band a 2003 Grammy Award for Best Dance Single.
Following the release of the album, and their Grammy success, they went on to tour the four corners of the globe, developing a reputation as a powerful and entertaining live act. In a rollercoaster two years, the band headlined their own worldwide tour, supported such like-minded artists as Moby and Groove Armada and stole the show at a number of international festivals, including Coachella, V Festival, Roskilde and Fuji Rock.
Other highlights included recording an acoustic version of the Beatles classic ‘'With A Little Help From My Friends’' for the last ever episode of Friends, performed an unforgettable live version of '‘Days Go By / One Nation Under A Groove'’ with the legendary Bootsy Collins, won a Playboy magazine award and shot a video with Supermodel Helena Christensen.
In 2004 they released a second, more organic album, One, which included the powerful ‘'Given You Everything’' and the deeply emotive "Human Love". The first single ‘'Walk Into The Sun'’ set the dance floors on fire and UK radio station XFM playlisted the track for a full 8 weeks. But some felt that the experimental sound was too far from the first album, and following the album the band went their separate ways to work on solo projects.
Finally, after a four year break they’re back, and on top form. They’ve written the score to new film '‘Boys And Girls Guide To Getting Down'’ and in 2011 they released their third album Electric Love. It started as a single experiment in the studio but soon blossomed into something more profound and special than a second wind. The newest release from the Grammy Award-winning group is a unique, acoustic spin on select songs from their 2011 release Electric Love, including hit single "Little White Doves." Electric Love Acoustic EP delivers raw, intimate edits that contrast beautifully against their electronic counterparts.
