Singer/Songwriter, Dion Roy, will be releasing his much-anticipated EP “Welcome Home” on March 31st (www.dionroy.com).
Born in Namibia and raised in Welkom, South Africa, Dion is a rising artist on the New York indie music scene. Following the success of his recent headlining tour in Singapore and his Summer 2010 U.S. tour, Dion spent this past Fall touring the country coast to coast with Tyler Hilton.
Dion has been working closely with Steve Miller of Tyler Hilton’s band as well as Tom Breyfogle of Secondhand Serenade to create the new album. New single, “Leave Me Out of This” will feature Josiah Leming (American Idol) on piano. Dion’s previous EP, “The Nearest Light” (June 2010) reached #8 on iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts, and was co-produced by Scott Reibling (Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship). Tracks from this EP, as well as his debut album “Gallery” (June 2009), have been licensed for use on Network TV including: MTV’s “The Real World”, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” on E!, “Bad Girls Club” on Oxygen and “Tosh.0” on Comedy Central.
Dion will be hosting an Album Release Performance & Listening Party on April 2nd at Dominion Theater & Lounge in NYC (www.dominionny.com).
