YouTube, Myspace and Second Life are new household words in the American internet age--but what about MIXI, 2 Channel and Animal Forest? Digital technology is transforming life in Japan and around the world, but who are the leaders, what are the hot new technologies, and what does it mean for society?

Explore the impact of these new digital technologies on the lives of young Japanese, and discuss what they see emerging from Japan in the years ahead.
Panelist include: Joi Ito, Japan-based venture capitalist, co-founder of Digital Garage, CEO of Neoteny, and Chairman of Japanese weblog software company Six Apart Japan. He is also an advisor to the Japanese government on IT, privacy and computer security-related issues. Also joining the discussion is Chika Watanabe, founder and president of Blueshift Global Partners consultancy, and founder of the Japanese Technology Professionals Association in Silicon Valley.
