Lalit Kala Academi is holding an exhibition titled Differently Strokes, an exhibition that brings together three generations of artists: father, daughter and grandson - PRS Tampi, Bhavani Raghunandan and Shashi Raghunandan. Fittingly named ‘Different Strokes’, it will be inaugurated tomorrow at Lalit Kala Academi by Thota Tharani. The exhibition showcases Tampi’s oil paintings. At 87, he still retains much of the zest, verve and observational prowess that is the hallmark of a painter. He has tried his hand at animals, birds and moved on to portraits. His daughter Bhavani started with water colours and oils, and moved on to Tanjore art. Now she into Chinese brush painting, created only on imported rice paper. She has attempted various themes such as bamboo, cranes, koi-the fish, lotus and chrysanthemum, each of which is replete with meaning in Chinese art. Shashi Raghunandan uses water colours for his works. For details contact 28365424, 28361925.
