Fredericksburg, VA ? The "Invisible Children" National Tour will present a documentary screening on Friday March 10, 2006. The free screening, sponsored by the nameless church, will take place at the Wounded Bookshop at 7:00 pm. Representatives from the Invisible Children Suburban Safari Tour will be on hand to show the film and lead the discussion.

"Invisible Children" is a documentary that captures the state of refugees in Uganda, a country in east-central Africa, affected by Civil War. When the documenters became stranded in Uganda they discovered horrific stories of children kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers of the Ugandan rebel group called the Lord?s Resistance Army (LRA). Children who refused to become soldiers or attempted to escape were tortured and executed by the LRA.
For this reason, thousands upon thousands of Ugandan children fear sleeping in their own beds. Each night, thousands of them travel away from their villages and into the cities where they sleep in building basements and in bus parks, the few places where they feel enclosed and safe from the LRA. The children are called ?invisible,? because they are overlooked in an area of the world plagued with conflict. They are invisible because their own government denies the hardships they face. They are invisible, because the world has yet to react to their suffering.

The nameless church is dedicated to eliminating global poverty and oppression by increasing awareness and providing opportunities for Fredericksburg area residents to get involved in important global causes. This screening will be at part of Dia:Logos, a monthly discussion series covering important issues of our time.
