(Berkeley, CA) November 2, 2010 –Join us at Habitot for a FREE Diá De Los Muertos celebration on Tuesday, November 2nd from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm ! Diá De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday that honors and celebrates the spirit of deceased loved ones. We will offer traditional Mexican music performed by Jorge Liceaga from 11:15am-12:00pm. Families may decorate sugar skulls from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, and taste horchata (donated by Cancun Taqueria) and sweet breads at 12:00 pm. Enrique Martinez will demonstrate the art of papel picado, banners cut in intricate patterns, from 10:00 am to noon. Children can also create their own colorful papel picado and paper marigolds in our Art Studio.
