The Arizona Chapter of the Usual Suspects Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is hosting its annual Devil’s Oven event to benefit families of fallen law enforcement officers starting Thursday, Oct. 18 through Saturday, Oct. 20. The main event is a memorial tribute dinner that will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Scottsdale Marriott Suites in Old Town. The memorial will honor the lives of the eight Arizona law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty last year and one Arizona officer who was killed in 1911, and just recently added this year to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. The tribute will also feature guest speakers including Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, America’s 2011 “Sheriff of the Year,” and the family of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, the agent killed in the “fast and furious” gun scandal. The Usual Suspects will make a special presentation to the families and agencies of those honored, and the proceeds from the event will benefit the families of fallen or injured police officers.
The Devil’s Oven is a celebration that honors Arizona law enforcement officers whose lives were lost in the line of duty in 2011. The event raises funds to benefit the families of future fallen or injured officers. This year alone, the Arizona Chapter of the Usual Suspects has raised more than $30,000 in cash and merchandise to benefit these families.
