All Hallows Eve approaches, and The Anunnaki Project is again dredging up ghastly tales from the deep in preparation for their fourth-annual "Ghost Game" production. From a mermaid in love to a siren in the sails, the dancers, aerialists and acrobats of their Cabiri troupe will transform Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in West Seattle into an enchanting underwater realm on October 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31, 2010.
The fearless performers of The Cabiri performance troupe will dive into the depths of the darkest myths as they bring to life the "Devil In the Deep Blue Sea," a collection of ancient tales from beneath the murky waters. In this evening-length, dessert theater production, aerialists dance with maddened water nymphs and acrobats dive into the arms of the vampiric Japanese Kappa.
The intimate, dinner-theater style seating arrangement ensures that all guests will have a good view of the on-stage performance while enjoying their dessert, beer, wine and cocktails. A lucky few will even be invited on stage to participate in the production! The performances will consist of nine separate short stories of underwater demons. Each story is vividly illustrated using dance, aerial performance, music, lights and spoken narrative, woven together into an elaborate tapestry that engages all the senses.
This year’s Ghost Game will also feature Cameron Esposito as Mistress of Ceremonies. Laying down jokes both surreal and highly personal, Cameron has become a darling of Chicago's alt comedy scene. Her wickedly dark sense of humor rounds out this macabre evening of spectacle and stories.
