Presenting a solution to a problem is no longer enough. The American employment model has evolved beyond the post-9/11 "new normal," and the world now spins on strong relationships. PATCA's January's dinner meeting features Randy Block, a staffing consultant and executive career coach.
During the recession that lasted much of the last decade, hiring managers needed "solutions," not people. This was a great situation for consultants, because experts are perfect for providing just that. However, the world now spins on strong strategic relationships, and businesses have turned their focus on content and delivery.
Sustaining success beyond today's "new normal" work model requires us to understand that we are already transitioning to the "future normal." The "old normal" focused on jobs and full-time employment. The current "new normal" focuses on solving business problems, and "future normal" will focus on rich work content, a sense of urgency, and delivery of strategic and tactical solutions.
Block's presentation will help consultants make the most of today's situation while developing a foundation for tomorrow's marketplace.
Transitioning to the future means that consultants who wish to stay ahead of the curve need to establish and maintain key business relationships that consistently deliver value. Attendees will learn how to focus on accelerating trends and reaching new clients to keep their consulting practices profitable.
