A new series of workshops led by Leader Dr. Anne Klaeysen.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is founded on language and communication skills that strengthen our ability to remain lovingly connected to other people, even under trying conditions. It contains nothing new; all that has been integrated into NVC has been known for centuries. The intent is to remind us about what we already know – how we humans were meant to relate to one another – and to assist us in living in a way that manifests this knowledge.
Dr. Klaeysen will guide participants in reframing how we express ourselves and hear others. Instead of being habitual, automatic reactions, our words become conscious responses based firmly on an awareness of what we observe, feel, and need. Developing a language of compassion means learning to express ourselves with honesty and clarity, while respecting, and empathizing with, others.
Participants must register with Yalitza Garcia at ygarcia@nysec.org or 212.874.5210 x 118.
Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead (212-874-5210 x 107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
