Detroit Music Alliance was a non-profit group that lasted from 1992-1998 and its mission was to promote the local music scene and unite the musicians, fans and music business people to educate and network for the cause. During that time the group produced three compilations of local music; two which one "Best Detroit Compilation" in the local music awards. The D.M.A. also took Detroit music out of town and showcased at regional music festivals such as Undercurrents and NXNE. The group once had 300 members at the height of its run, and featured all styles of music from rock to jazz.
