This exhibit features a collection of more than 100 Chinese ceramic containers from the Neolithic period. Many of these ceramics were predecessors to the shapes of early Chinese bronze vessels and were frequently decorated with elaborate geometric and stylized patterns. Examples of a wide variety of spirals, lozenges, checkered patterns, net patterns, curved bands, and saw-toothed bands can be seen on various vessels.
