When: 21.10.09 at 10:00
Where: Tyneside Cinema, 10 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QG
This wide ranging event is for designers of all disciplines of retail products.
Featuring an IP lawyer and industry speakers from a variety of design disciplines, this event will provide advice, tips and inside knowledge to help you to develop your creative business. Speakers will focus on explaining how IP touches every aspect of a business from the product to the tools used to market it. In particular, this event will cover the importance of copyright to design protection; however you are welcome to ask questions about specific areas of interest within this.
The event will also look at the use of agency agreements for products and services, as well as techniques for licensing or selling designs. This will enable you to choose the best sales deals when making contracts with large retail companies, and help you to work out implications and opportunities for your business. If you are already working with retail companies who owns the copyright for the design, the event will also look at ways for maximising your design potential and key steps to setting up trade marks.
The event takes place between 10am and 1pm and includes lunch.
This event can be attended by itself, or it can be attended in conjunction with the product designers event on 22 October, which will also be held at the Tyneside Cinema. For more information, click here.
