First Person Arts will celebrate the life and art of renowned fashion designer Kay Unger at Kay Unger Uncut: A Life in Fashion, an autobiographical fashion event and retrospective being co-produced with Neiman Marcus.
Kay will tell the no-holds-barred story of her rise to the top of the fashion world in a unique presentation that includes four decades of vintage designs, original sketches, personal memorabilia and a fashion show of selections from her collection. Followers of fashion will be able to purchase one-of-a-kind items donated by Kay Unger, Neiman Marcus, and First Person Arts. Auction items include a hand-painted, vintage, silk kimono that Kay designed for 2006 Academy Awards presenters, the original sketch of the inaugural gown Kay designed for Tipper Gore; a day with Kay in New York; spa treatments; makeovers; and guest passes for select First Person Festival events.
Kay Unger Uncut: A Life in Fashion will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 10:30am on the second level of Neiman Marcus, The Plaza at King of Prussia. Tickets for the fashion event, which will be preceded by a champagne brunch, are $40 each or $75/pair. Advance tickets can be purchased through First Person Arts. Please phone (267-402-2055) or email firstperson@firstpersonarts.org. by April 14th. Proceeds from the event will benefit the upcoming First Person Festival (June 1-11, 2006), the only festival dedicated to presenting multi-disciplinary works-of-art based on authentic, real-life experience.
