Following the example set by other major cities such as Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, London or Amsterdam, Brussels has established itself as a stronghold of design in Europe. A milestone event for amateurs, DESIGN SEPTEMBER is a festival that combines almost 30 separate events.

Last year, as part of the Fashion and Design Year, Brussels prepared itself for the first time for a week entirely devoted to design. A novel event contributing to giving Brussels a dynamic and creative image. This year, Designweek changes name and becomes Design September. Indeed, to absorb the flood of events related to design that will be in full swing next September, Design September will cover a period of 3 whole weeks. Still more ambitious, the new program will build many bridges with the Brussels institutions and will once again welcome guests of an international calibre.

The concept

Working along the lines of a music festival, Design September programs a series of autonomous events on the theme of design, held in various places around the capital between the 9th and 30th September.

The goal of this federative event is to create synergies and bridges between the various independent and active organizations concerned with design by offering them a platform and showcase on a national scale and beyond the borders of the country. Launched in 2006, the year of fashion and design in Brussels, Design September aims to be a permanent event, an annual appointment in the diary of the industry players and the design market as well as for the general public interested in design.
