The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History is hosting its monthly lecture series, Descubra el Desierto, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. The lecture will be held at the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History at the Mesilla Valley Mall. Our December topic is Las Cruces Water Conservation Program, presented by Christine Chavez, Water Conservation Program Coordinator for the Regulatory and Environmental Services of the City of Las Cruces Utilities Department.
Her lecture will include information about the City’s Water Conservation Program and its initiatives and collaborative work throughout the community. Xeriscape planting materials will be distributed, including an interactive plant guide DVD, a 2010 xeriscape plant calendar, and samples of the City’s compost and mulch that are available to the public free of charge.
