Derby Day @ Arlington Park May 2, 2009

Join 15,000+ at Arlington Park for the largest Derby Day gathering in Chicago. Get the experience of live throughbred racing while still enjoying the ability to catch all of the excitement of the Kentucky Derby. Enjoy a fun filled day featuring Kentucky themed food and beverage specials, live music, and of course wagering and the live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby on our flat panel HD-ready TVs.

Arlington Parks 2009 race season kicks off on Derby weekend, and will feature a full card of 12 races on Kentucky Derby Day. Gates open early at 9:15am for Twin Spires Club members and 10:45am for all other guests, with live racing beginning at 12:15am. Enjoy live music from the Miller Lite Band Stage from I.R.S. who will be belting out 90s rock tunes. Also, be one of the first 2,500 to purchase tickets online in advance and receive a 2009 Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Glass. The glasses will be available in the East Paddock by showing a valid online ticket before 2pm.

Derby Day will also feature the return of American Airlines Summer Sweeps with two round-trip airfares to a destination in the continental U.S. up for grabs. Also, new for 2009, free photography will be offered throughout the day, so grab your friends and pose for a commemorative picture.

Kentucky themed specials will be on offer throughout the day including Mint Juleps, and a $5.00 sandwich special in the Park. Reservations in our dining rooms are already sold out, but limited reserved seating remains. To purchase reserved seats click here.

Opening Weekend is also Arlington Heights Community Appreciation Weekend! Saturday May 2nd Arlington Heights residents are eligible for a special reserved box seat and Clubhouse Combo lunch package, or two complimentary general admission tickets! Businesses from the Arlington Heights community will be on hand throughout the day to provide information and hand out giveaways. The 1st Arlington Heights Derby Business Expo is being supported by the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.
