Greater Tuna is the hilarious comedy about Texas' third smallest town, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by only two performers, making this satire on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict all of the inhabitants of Tuna -- men, women, children and animals.

Wade Wood has teamed Seth Maisel and Austin Terrell together for the third time in this popular Tuna tale! Wood stated, "From the 2008 productions of "Stones In His Pockets" and the British farce "Out of Order" these two have shown they are dynamite together on stage. I was looking for a vehicle to get them on stage together again and "Greater Tuna" was perfect."

One of Seth Maisel roles in "Greater Tuna" is that of R.R. Snavely, a role that calls for the playing of a fiddle.

"It is lucky that I happened to be playing R.R. The script calls for him to "fake play" the fiddle but we figured my actually playing the fiddle would make it all the more fun!" Maisel said, "I have been playing
the fiddle since I was very young. I suspect I write left-handed because I played the fiddle first making the left hand my smart hand. I stopped playing the fiddle seriously after High School and picked up the viola and mandolin, but am re-teaching myself the fiddle now. R.R. is one of my favorite characters in the script. He's the drunkard husband of Didi, owner of Didi's Used Weapons. He claims to have seen a UFO... and we have a lot of fun with that."

Native Texan Austin Terrell says of Tuna, "I have had to remember the world of my childhood, finding inspiration, speech patterns and mannerisms of everyone I can remember. The church matrons, roustabouts, and do-gooders of Lubbock, Texas have provided me the best character study I can think of in preparing for my roles. Who knew big hair would play such a big role in my life?"

The Denver Victorian Playhouse opens "Greater Tuna" on Friday, March 6 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m. through April 25. Tickets are $22 and available by calling 303-433-4343 or online at www.denvervic.com
