Born in Suriname and raised in the Netherlands, Denise Jannah is a national heroine of the Dutch not-just-jazz scene. Denise released her first album in 1991 and made her North Sea Jazz Festival debut that same year. Since then, she's explored her world-beat/pop groove on albums like 'Different Colours ' (1996) and gone to the musical edge as a featured vocalist with the Willem Breuker Collective. Stage actress, educator, theater vocal coach, composer, and lyricist, Denise Jannah is a great jazz singer.
