Las Cruces, NM – In conjunction with the fractal exhibit, Art for the 21st Century, at the Branigan Cultural Center an after-hours gallery talk is scheduled for Friday, June 18, 2010 at 5:30 p.m.
Fractal art is the merging of art and science, where color, composition, and the vision of the artist blend with the formulae and algorithms of science. Representatives from the Mesilla Valley Fractal Artists will demonstrate the process used to create fractals and discuss the art work in the exhibit.
The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the Downtown Mall in Las Cruces. The exhibits and events are free and open to the public. New gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Branigan Cultural Center at (575) 541-2154 or visit the Center’s web site at las-cruces.org/museums.
