Immigration Using The KISS Principle, 2-23-08

Presidential Candidates,

Our government needs to learn the KISS principle. How about making the employment of illegal Immigrants (where ever they are from) a felony with fines and jail time! Forget the fence and all the other bologna. When I applied and earned my jobs it was required that I provided my Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, etc. to verify that I was who I said I was. Employers verifying that their employees are legal; what a concept! Get caught employing an illegal immigrant, get a huge fine and go to jail! No more jobs for illegals and two things will happen. 1.) Guest worker program gets worked out and 2.) illegals already in the U.S. will have no choice but to come clean and get documented. If they are not employable then they would have to go back where they came from and the U.S. will buy them the plane ticket (it’s a whole lot cheaper that the bunk that is going on now). No welfare or medical benefits because they are illegal immigrants and those things are reserved for legal immigrants and citizens.
With that said, I am a firm believer in immigration because this country was founded and built by immigrants. My ancestors are all immigrants and they are a healthy part of our nation. What is not healthy for our nation is the circus that is our current immigration policy.
Please respond with a real answer and not the usual political blah-blah-blah that insults the intelligence of all Americans.

wonderer

Presidential Candidates,

There is a lot of discussion that our troops could stay in Iraq for "one hundred years". What are your comments about our troops stationed in North Korea for more than 55 years, in Europe for more than 60 years and in many other countries (Japan, Philippines, etc.) for many-many years?? Shouldn't they also be coming home??
