DemoCamp Vancouver 07 - Social Platforms Edition July 7, 2009

This is DemoCamp Vancouver 07, aka the "Return of DemoCamp".

The featured presentations are social platforms - out of the box social networking and other social web experiences.

BuddyPress: built on top of WordPress MU, presented by Andy Peatling, creator and lead developer.

Anahita Social Engine: built on top of Joomla 1.5 extensions by Rastin Mehr and Arash Sanieyan

As always, we have space for 5 attendee pitches of 6 minutes each, and everyone gets a chance to showcase their 30 second pitch to the crowd.

6:10pm - 6:30pm 30 second pitches (non scheduled pitches) + voting + networking
6:30pm - 7:15pm featured presentations
7:15pm - 8:00pm 5 x 6 minute pitches

Now that we have the Bootup Entrepreneurial Society, we have some more organizing bandwidth to help organize more events. We think the community needs more opportunities to share presentations of a medium length with their peers, as well as to practice pitching of ideas. This is the only one planned so far, so please give feedback on what you'd like to see.
