Delfeayo Marsalis Sextet June 24, 2012

Since producing an album for his father (pianist Ellis Marsalis) at the age of 17, trombonist/composer Delfeayo Marsalis has gone on to craft the sound of over 70 major label recordings including works by his famous brothers Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick, Jr., Courtney Pine, Marcus Roberts, Kenny Kirkland, and Terence Blanchard. Four of these efforts have won Grammy awards. Delfeayo, the third of four Marsalis brothers, has also lead his own band consistently for over 15 years and has been the featured trombone soloist with such artists as Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Fats Domino and drummer Elvin Jones' Jazz Machine (his longest association.)
