Deftones is an American rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1988 consisting of Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter , Chi Cheng , Frank Delgado and Abe Cunningham. They have released six albums to date. Deftones debut album, Adrenaline, released on October 3, 1995. On June 20, 2000, Deftones released their third album, White Pony. White Pony achieved platinum status on July 17, 2002, selling over 1.3 million copies in the US, and earning the band a 2001 Grammy award for Best Metal Performance for the song "Elite".
