Awsome performance by journey with new vocalist Jeff Scott Soto replacing Steve Augieri. Satisfying High Energy set covering all their standards. The whole band gelled together like JSS had been there from the beginning. The band members looked like they were enjoying their work and the fans appreciated it. They (even those there for Def Leppard) were on their feet and singing along.
In contrast, Def Leppard produced a very lacklustre set. Many in the audience left before and during their set. Def leppard needs Journey, but Journey doesn't need Def Leppard.
I thought Def Leppard gave a great performance! I just wonder if there's sufficient overlap in the fan base for these two to tour together. I have the same concern about this year's pairing of Def Leppard and Styx, but I'll be there anyway.
I have a bunch of pictures from the White River show; see http://flickr.com/photos/crumj/sets/72157594264132813/
