Come join us as we cut down invasive species at Deer Grove Forest Preserve! We will mostly be cutting down buckthorn and burning it. This is a family-friendly event, so bring everyone to join in the fun!
Tools and work gloves will be provided as well as water. Please dress according to the weather including warm gloves if it is cold. Participants should wear sturdy footwear such as good boots to keep feet warm and away from any snow that may be on the ground. Participants should also wear old clothing including an exterior of cottom or denim if planning on participating in the fire. Materials such as nylon are more likely to be damaged from sparks.
Directions: from the corner of Dundee and Quentin in Palatine, head north on Quentin and turn left at the first entrance. Turn right at the first stop sign, then stay straight at the second stop sign. Continue along until you come to parking on your RIGHT and stop there - you found us!
