How do we face the mundane and extraordinary challenges of our lives? With humor, grace, grit? In Acts of Faith, Dance Place’s co-director Deborah Riley explores faith, trust and the ways in which we find ourselves moving forward, sometimes in spite of ourselves. Whether our faith is based in religion, philosophy or the hard knocks of life, we find strange momentum taking us to places we fear and desire. Deborah Riley Dance Projects is joined by members of Dance Place’s repertory & performance class in the creation of this premiere work. Riley is recognized by numerous awards nationally and locally including the Pola Nirenska award for leadership in dance, and is known for creating powerfully seductive works with uplifting elegance, all to reveal the inner landscape of life.
