Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, presents Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds for four nights of music and comedy, Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1 at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 2 at 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 3 at 3:00 p.m. Reynolds, who has starred in over thirty motion pictures, two Broadway shows, and dozens of television shows, has recently celebrated her fifty-ninth year in show business.
Reynolds recordings of Abba Dabba Honeymoon and Tammy both sold more than one million copies. She has appeared as a headliner at venues from Las Vegas to Atlantic City to the famed London Palladium, as well as in concert in every major American city, touring on the average of forty-four weeks a year.
Reynolds made her screen debut with June Haver and James Barton in The Daughter of Rosie OGrady. She was made famous in 1952 by her role opposite Gene Kelly in Singin in the Rain, the most celebrated movie musical of all time.
Over a ten year period, Reynolds made more than twenty-five films, including How The West Was Won, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Goodbye Charlie and more. Her career skyrocketed as she became a leading lady in musicals and comedies, and performed on television and in nightclubs.
