The Stand up comedy Workshop teaches the basic structure of stand-up and techniques for creating and performing original material.
The first workshop was on Sunday, Nov 8thth at 11 AM.
(All classes will be at the Addison Improv Comedy Club.)
- It's the end of the course. Each student has developed a 5 to 7 minute set of original material, which will be presented in front of a live audience. This showcase will be held tonight at the Addison Improv.
There were a total of 8 classes, a rehearsal workshop, plus the showcase. The first 3 classes cover the basic techniques for creating and performing original stand-up material. Students then use these techniques to create material that will be brought into class and “workshopped”. (The material is performed and the instructor gives feedback, such as to how make it funnier; more accessible to an audience; performance techniques on how to better present the material, etc.)
The first class is free!
There is no pressure to sign up-I only want you to do this if you really want it.
