Dead Rock West is a Southern California rock band with flourishes of country and folk influences whose strength lies in its vocal harmonizing. Dave Alvin is a guitarist, singer and songwriter. An offshoot of the LA punk band X, The Knitters features X's Exene Cervenka, and John Doe, with DJ Bonebrake, Blasters co-founder Dave Alvin and Jonny Ray Bartel from Red Devils. John Doe was a founding member and singer of the Los Angeles punk band X.
