This is a conference that will feature youth from Ballou H.S. in Southeast speaking about work they've been doing to address problems in their school and D.C. this semester. The teens worked with Georgetown undergraduates to learn activism skills and the GU students guided them as they exercised the skills on problems in their school and in D.C.
At the conference the students will discuss the process, the problems they addressed, and the reactions they got. There will also be an appearance by Gabriel "Asheru" Benn, a local hip hop artist, public school teacher, and community activist.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. RSVP to ckk8@georgetown.edu or hmv2@georgetown.edu.
