Please join us for an exciting day at the Peabody Essex Museum, including a docent-led our of Yin Yu Tang House and Gallery, a 200-year old house that is an actual Qing Dynasty-era home. The dismantling, preservation and re-creation of the Yin Yu Tang House is a milestone in the history of international preservation. Originally located in a tiny village 250 miles southwest of Shanghai, it was the home of the same family for eight generations. This elegant house has 16 bedrooms and many of the original furnishings.
Our trip will also include a guided art and architectural house tour of two historic Salem homes. There will be an opportunity to visit the international gift shop. A delicious box lunch will be provided in the Bartlett Gallery. Please indicate your choice of the following for lunch: sliced roast beef, artichoke guacamole, lettuce and tomato on sour dough bread; curry chicken salad with walnuts and raisins on whole wheat bread; roasted vegetables and fresh mozzarella on whole wheat roll-up. Sandwiches come with whole fresh fruit, freshly baked cookies, potato chips, bottled water and assorted soft drinks.
